love covers the pain
by  David Castillo Dominici on

Her smile made any thoughts of my aching muscles disappear. The weight of her small body already almost too much of a strain for me, but I wouldn’t put her down.  Not when her laughter filled the room. It would be easy to hand her back;  back to her waiting parents, but I treasure each smile given. She may not be my child but I love her dearly,  as if we were connected by more than just friendship. A connection no less than that of me and my nieces or nephews. She is every bit a part of my family.

My short piece for 100 word challenge why not have a go yourself the prompt is Family
