The visit

Dread and anxiety of what is ahead

The people to meet

The small talk to be said

True these people are those you know well

But the anxiety claws

Like your entering hell

Well this year you got your wish, alone you sit

Shivering you long

For the warmth of wit

To have that visit that drew up such fear

Take care with wishing

Someone might hear

  1. I can related to this poem all too well 🙂
It is a little frightening to know that as much as some people hate to socialize, to a point of such dread, inside there is part of us that needs it just as badly as well.
