Sea of green

A shimmering sea is laid out in front

The wind gives it movement that calms the affront

Of noisy neighbours and motorists wild

The angry birds calling and the screaming young child

It’s not a secluded spot I have found

Many are here yet they don’t hang around

They don’t seem to notice the beauty that’s shown

They rush and they hurry all on their way home

The smaller birds calmly call to their friends

They flitter about on the calm breeze that sends

My heart into quiet; my peaceful zone

Only to be shattered by the un-ending drone

The sea is not blue but a rippling green

So textured and coloured yet so rarely seen

There are reds and there’s yellows and bright white too

And above is the sky that is a calming, cool blue
